Open and Modern Aesthetic

This 100 year old High Park residence required a complete ground floor overhaul to fulfill the owner's desire for a home with an open and modern atmosphere filled with light and functional spaces.

The design challenge was to expand the interior space without increasing the footprint of the house. The dark and awkward layout was reimagined to create a bright and airy space, ushering natural light deep within the house. Custom millwork was designed for every room to help organize and simplify the frenetic lives of a family of four. A fresh, modern kitchen with banquette, fireplace mantle with bookcases and new storage closets beneath the stairs all promote the modern and functional aesthetic. A new powder room was conveniently tucked away under the stairs.
